This will be my first journal entry here at DA. Perhaps its time?

Anyways, my computer was struck by lightning last week, so any new deviations will be a bit delayed. Really annoying...

Until my computer (baptised "Insolence" using a sharp knife and some frustration) is fixed, my DA scene will be somewhat on ice. I hope my files can be saved.

At least its time for some vacation, starting in 24 hours... :D

Do you know that Charlemagne was a descendant from Attila the Hun?

Do you know what the name Charlemagne means?

I don't know, I just know that he was the king of the Franks and that if it had not been by his intervention Europe would have been taken by the muslims in the eighth century.

Charlemagne is the frankish name for Karl the Great (Magnus means "the great").
As for his intervention, I'm unsure of it as I haven't read about it. There were far more violent threats than muslims around in those times...

I'd say ``Karl the Great was´´ the english name for Charlemagne, since he was Frank. And yes I knew ``magnus´´ had to do with something refering to greatness.
And yes he intervened in the fight against muslims, I know that supposedly the apostle Santiago of Compostela or Saint James appeared(because he was dead) before Charlemagne and asked him to release Galice from the muslim dominion, and Charlemagne did so. That may sound as a mere legend, but yes he went to Spain to fight the muslims.
